RODEO AUSTIN TO HOST YOUTH AUCTION
Rodeo Austin will host the Youth Auction on Friday, March 25 at the Bullock Texas State History Museum. Family, friends and local businesses will gather to show support and bid on the projects of Texas youth who will put the money raised toward their futures.
The auction will feature 400 exhibitors from this year’s Junior Livestock Show and the Youth Western Art Show. Students selected their Junior Livestock Show projects up to a year ago, and have spent the past two weeks showing their animals at Rodeo Austin in hopes of claiming a spot in the Youth Auction.
The Youth Western Art Show, held January 23, 2016 at the Bullock Texas State History Museum, showcased western-themed photography, digital, traditional and 3-D art by high school students from across the state. The top twenty-three students will sell their artwork at the Youth Auction.
The Grand and Reserve Grand Champion steers, goats, lambs and hogs will be on display at the museum, as well as the top twenty-three pieces of art. On-site registration will be available at the event for prospective buyers interested in participating in this year’s auction. The Grand Champion steer will be sold at noon.
Last year, supporters of Rodeo Austin helped make the Youth Auction a record-breaking year, raising more than $1.2 million for Texas youth.
